Tomorrow's Bill Simmons Column Today

Do you know why the Colts lost 24-20 to the previously undefeated/heralded as the greatest team of all-time Patriots today? It's not because of injuries to their first-ballot Hall of Fame Wide Receiver, first-round pick Wide Receiver, and starting Left Tackle: it's because Tom Brady just wins football games!!!!1111!!1

The Pats are obviously a great team and still the favorite to win the Super Bowl, but it would be unwise to sleep on the Colts - I think there's a chance that, at full strength, they could beat the Pats. It's reasonable to assume that with all their WRs and a healthy offensive line, they would have done a better job moving the ball in the second half.

Hopefully this kind of desperate comeback win will show the media that the Pats aren't quite invincible and temper the ball-gargling for a week....but I'm not holding my breath.

Uncle, indeed. Not only would Marvin Harrison have helped them move the ball in the second half, but both of Manning's fumbles (as well as several of his rushed passes) were the direct result of the replacement left tackled being beat by the Patriots' right defensive end and outside linebacker. You can't beat a team as good as the Patriots with an exposed blindside.
