emo entertainment thoughts

Large-group birthday restaurant dinners are tricky. It seems like no one ever leaves pleased with the fun to dollar ratio

The lilacs cooperated with the Arnold Arboretum's Lilac Sunday celebration. I consider this impressive. as were the lilacs. and the bonsai collection. (of course Harvard has a humbling bonzai collection)

The PBS special on the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination includes way too much armchair psychologizing of James Earl Ray

If you went out for tapas for a large group birthday dinner, the fun to dollar discrepancy ratio might spontaneously combust.

Couldn't agree more.

I agree about the large group dinners. If the group is too large, then you only get to talk to only the few people around you, and half the time you don't get to talk to the person whose birthday it is. Also, it seems as if people who are accustomed to expense accounts or the corporate credit card are less reluctant to order big steaks and expensive wine in a group situation like that. I am not one of those people.
